 Loony. Crackpot. Nutcase. Basket case. Schizo. Psycho. The list goes on. All those lovely words we use to describe others who we keep on the periphery of our vision, those who live in the shadow of themselves. It reminds me of that movie, ‘The Beach’, in which Leornardo DiCaprio parties with others on a secret beach in paradise. During the film, a guy gets bitten by a shark, cries about it, and because of his whining, is placed in a tent far from the beach. The guy, now out of earshot, doesn’t do too well as the unbitten enjoy themselves, and celebrate their eternal golden bodies with a magic pre-photoshop selfie shot. Woo hoo!  Midges attacked, thunder roared, and the hills whispered tales of giants as I roamed for four days. I hope you enjoy the photos below. Hi A long time since the last update. I haven't been writing much, as research for detecting and conserving a rare aquatic plant has dominated my life these past six months. However, I hope to write again in the near future. I just want to share with you a short video of a 38-day hiking through the Scottish winter mountains that myself and Mike Cawethorne undertook in memory of our friend, Clive Dennier. Our journey took us from the northwest coast to Kinloch Hourn in Knoydart, walking through Britain's last wild areas. We camped and stayed in bothies, and lived solely on 9 food parcels buried beforehand. The trip occurred during January and February 2015. I hope you enjoy it, and hope all is well in your life.  Hi! I just came back from a five-day trip centred around Ben Wyvis, a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. After being caught out in a white-out, I eventually climbed Wyvis, and then went onto search for a chambered cairn, where perhaps an ancient chief still lies. Though the photos in the following slideshow are in no particular order, I hope you can enjoy them.
