To live with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) takes courage. Those with courage are dudes. Those who have BPD and do their best in life despite it are BPD Dudes. And yes, females can be dudes too.
But what is BPD? Through this blog and Deadweight, my novelised autobiography, I hope to answer this question, and in doing so raise awareness about BPD and mental illness in general. Having experienced a wide range of symptoms, including anxiety, depression, disassociation, delusions and hallucinations, I hope my life will have some benefit to others if shared. So, Deadweight and this blog are principally about sharing and caring.
My current focus is STEPPS, a therapy program designed to help people with personality disorders. The therapy lasts for twenty weeks, so when you Subscribe to BPD Dude, expect a post every few weeks or so about my experiences. Through the STEPPS-related posts you will learn how the therapy approaches BPD, and gain access to Resources designed by myself to help group members get the most out of the program.
This blog is about my personal experience of BPD and associated therapies. If you are looking for help and support, may I suggest joining the Facebook group Borderline Personality Disorder and EUPD Community, which is moderated to protect users from abuse.
Finally, please be kind and considerate in the comments box. This website is my home, so please use appropriate language to my other guests as if you were visiting a the house of a friend.
With loving kindness
